The Marcelos Mexican Restaurant of Plymouth Indiana Story

Minudo soup from Marcelos in Plymouth Indiana has arrived via Ezrun. Can't wait! The habanero sauce on top of the peanut butter jar goes into the peanut butter.
More to come. #maddog

Weird Fusion Nightowl

Just a heads up to my visiting friends and family. I'm morphing into a weird fusion night owl so you can come as early as you want. But not everyday!? Probably will always prefer later afternoons and evenings, and there's no limits as to how late. Texting or calling first always helps.

memes, screenshots. quotes, and jokes graveyard.

I plan to continuously clean all my photos and files, from the sacred to the secular, hits and misses. Let's see where this goes. #maddog

Officer: Dispatch, I'm at the home of an old woman who shot her husband for walking on her freshly mopped floor.
Dispatch: Is she in custody?
Officer: No, the floor isn't dry yet.

This Gospel Must Be Preached To ALL Nations

The phrase "This gospel must be preached to all nations, then shall the end come," has been ringing in my mind lately. I suspect that the Spirit is nudging me to meditate on that.

Mary is sleeping soundly in the bedroom. When she stirs around, she will call out "Daddy!?" rather than my name. Rather than correct her, I have from time to time promted her with "You know I'm your husband, right?" As long as I am gentle in my prompting, she responds with  "Of course!!" It is so easy for me to be irritating to a woman. Sigh. Keep the grace pouring down, Lord!

Observations and questions about preaching the gospel:

If we want God's Kingdom to be established on earth as it is heaven (remember the Lord's prayer?) then we must preach the gospel... everywhere!

Don't let the sounds of warfare drown out the peace of God in our hearts and stop us from continuing to preach the Gospel. Press on!! God is with us, so none can stand against us!

More to come on this post. Stay tuned.

One man newspaper

The only thing white liberals fear more than a black man with a gun is a black man with an opinion of his own.
@donsurber makes me laugh, inspires, informs. A one man newspaper. https://t.co/Veim4qFkyc

An exciting day!

Exciting day. Mary got a diaper rash so I decided to let her air out with no clothes but I couldn't close the living room blinds. Fortunately they sent out an emergency repair crew stat. They're really good to us. Rachel brought a half jar of Desitin and helped me catch up. Mary's comfortable now and relaxing. Brand New blinds, clean clothes and sheets and caught up on laundry. It was exciting!

Fox News Won't Say His Name

If #FoxNews won't say his name, does this make #DonaldTrump Lord Voldemort and Fox News #HarryPotter Ministry of Magic?

Blood pressure

Today my blood pressure is 100/56. My daughter Wendy asked if that was a little low.
I replied Only if I jump out of bed too quickly. Rachel, my 6 ft helper, (I'm 6'5) has the same problem. It afflicts tall people. It's called...
(wait for it)... The Giraffe Syndrome.
I'm just happy I can safely have a cup or cup and a half of coffee a day.

Don Surber, my favorite source of news

Quote from @donsurber
Dante said the devil would rather rule in hell than serve in heaven.
That would make him a Democrat.

I am a news junkie since I was old enough to read a newspaper. My addiction deepened when I had a job delivering papers in the Aetna neighborhood of Gary Indiana. There were 3 papers, the Gary paper, the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times. My weakness was reading the paper before folding them up to be able to throw them onto the porch.
In Emerson High School Mr. Chris (not Kris Kristofferson) Christopherson was our very engaging history teacher. I sat in the back next to a large filing cabinet filled with at least 5 years worth of news magazines, Times, US News and World Report, and Newsweek. When I wasn't engrossed in the lecture, I was reading every issue of all those magazines.
When I went to college Time magazine offered college students special prices. Even though I didn't have enough money to buy pizza on Friday night I subscribed, and kept my subscription going after I entered the ministry.
Whenever I went to the library I devoured the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. Whenever the Wall Street Journal was for sale where I shopped and I had some change, I'd buy an issue and also an issue of The New York Times.
When Mary and I were married in 2010 (both our first spouses died of cancer), and digital subscriptions became popular, I subscribed to the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
Then Trump ran for President. The degree of distortion frustrated me, and I no longer trusted my previous sources. I cancelled them all. When Mary and I moved back to Indiana, I cancelled our cable. I am even disappointed in Fox News, because now they treat Trump like Lord Voldemort, He Who Must Not Be Named.
Hence my latching onto Don Surber, a life long political reporter who sees clearly and has a dangerous sense of humor. Along with the Epoch Times and Breitbart, and now Truth Social, I can almost be satisfied with my news sources.
Thank you, Don, for your hard work, your deep research, your snese of humor, and your clarity of mind. #maddog

Mansplaining

Mansplaining. We automatically assume we are talking-to a rookie or child and lump all women in the same category. That's because men can't easily tell the difference between feminine child-likeness that can relate to children and male childishness, like Peter Pan who grows up later than females, in some cases never. Built-in conflict between men and women which can only be bridged by mutual respect and God's miraculous GRACE. See how I snuck in a mini sermon?
