Google+ Stomps Facebook, Twitter
Bloggers, take note: Google+ out pulled viewers to my blog 7 to 1.
I just did a quick analysis of last weeks views on one of my 12 blogs The Adventures of Mike and Mary. The blog had about 400 page views. Of those 400, 24 came up with identifying URLs. Of those 24 identities, 21 were not Facebook or Twitter. So, of those 400 views, 88% came from outside my circle of Facebook and Twitter friends.
I have been working with Facebook and Twitter for 2 years. I have just been seriously working with Google Plus for about one month, dabbling about two months. During that time, my page views per month have gone from 5000 in January to over 12 thousand in March.
I strongly suspect that the power of the Google search engine is behind this surge in my blog page views.

Connections
The commercial for the Grammy commercial, which has the music of rap star Mike Shinoda, had a hauntingly similar sound to the new Chrysler ads with the Selected of God black gospel choir which electrified everyone in last years Superbowl Ads. The Chrysler Ads were produced by another rapper, eminem, and the two men had collaborated together before Mike started with his own group. Both are considered among the top 10 rappers of all time.
Another connection has been nagging me: the striking similarity between the composers of Touch, the new tv series produced by Tim Kring, who also produced Heroes, and the composers for the movie Hannah, The Chemical Brothers. Seems they both did tracks for Heroes: The Original Sound Track.
Good news/ bad news
http://newsone.com/nation/crime/nomul6/detroit-senior-shoots-and-kills-intruder/ This happened close to us (45 minutes drive). Good news/ bad news. Good news is a man is still alive along with his invalid wife. Bad news is a man who lacked understanding is dead.

The Image of God
"Lord, I’ve always wanted to take a road trip to Hawaii. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii?”
One day the Lord appeared to a biker. The Lord said “You have been a good example to all the other bikers. You’ve been a courteous driver, respectful to women, temperate in your habits, and you’ve kept in touch. Ask me for your heart desires!”
The biker thought for a moment. “Lord, I’ve always wanted to take a road trip to Hawaii. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii?”
“That would tie up a lot of men and materials,” replied the Lord. “Is there any thing else your heart yearns for?”
“Well, Lord, I really love my wife, but she really confuses me sometimes. Could you help me understand women?
The Lord was silent. Then He said, “Would you like that bridge to be four lanes or two?”
In case you’re confused, the preceding is just a story. But, not too many years ago, I was in the same condition that the biker was in. I respected women, and I cherished my wife, but women confused and, sometimes, frightened me.
Then God revealed to me a cherished misconception that I was holding on to. I understood basically that man was created in the image of God. It was also obvious and simple observation. Women had an irreplaceable role in raising children. Since the woman was created separately, I assumed that they were an alien race. They were beautiful, necessary, but unfathomable, incomprehensible!
God reminded me that they too were in the image of God. All of the characteristics that God possessed they possessed. The fierceness, the passion, the love of beauty, the strength, etc., it was all there, in different proportions than men, but still there. Some qualities that I thought were unique to women were also in men, but in smaller, or dormant portions, such as the love of beauty, awareness, tenderness.
God also reminded me that it was my mother who mentored me, who encouraged me in both the love of beauty, especially music, and pushed me into being fierce, to defend myself and others. She encouraged me to be fearless, for she was a fearless woman. She was like that because she was made in the image of God.
We all are.
If you want to know who you are, then you must know, know in the deepest sense, who God is. If you want to know God, you must look to the cross. Fierce, fearless love.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Frugal-cheap
We're going to Frankenmuth Michigan today. It's Eric's and my birthday month, so we eat dinner free. Mary eats free also cause I'm buying hers. Don't choke and have a heart attack. Yes, I'm frugal (cheap!) but I always spoil the woman I love. I have found it to be an investment that pays great dividends. And because I've been cheap (frugal) for so long, I have a little cash to do that.

My grand daughter posted this on her Facebook page. I wonder where she inherited that sense of humor?

Encouraging News
Encouraging news on the blog front. First, I have three minor blogs with over 2000 views and my flagship blog is just under 50000. Next, I have a huge reserve of ideas and photos, so there is no pressure doing this. Third, more than half of the referrals are coming from searches, and 50% of the referrals for My Hell and The Passion blog are from Cisco.com???
