#rmdo Focus on #Christ and His #Crucifixion #inspiration
"For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." - Paul.
For the last decade of my life, because I had so much on my plate, (my late wife's cancer, a high pressure job, a home to care for, a church to pastor) I determined that I could not do all things well, but I could follow and live Jesus and Him crucified. #rmdo

#rmdo Popular In #Russia #blogging
I have two blogs that are popular in Russia, according to my stats. http://thegiftparables.blogspot.com/ may be popular because of a hunger for the miraculous after the long reign of secular Communism. But http://adventuresofmikeandmary.blogspot.com/ ??!! No idea why that's popular in Mother Russia?! #rmdo

#rmdo Dimwitted Courage #humor
My brother (Ted Dittmer) posting a Chuck Norris joke on my timeline reminded me of a boyhood incident.
Our church youth group leader had gathered all the boys in the car and drove us out to a local cemetery. All of us boys were totally clueless about the Catholic tradition of placing slow burning long lasting candles on the graves. Meaning to scare us, our leader screamed, THE LIGHTS!! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!
Most of the boys were screaming and begging Trent, the leader, to skedaddle, except for two: my brother Tim Dittmer and myself. We were begging Trent to stop and let us out so we could investigate the scary phenomenon.
The Dittmers owe this dimwitted courage to their parents. Mom incessantly trained us to never back down from a scary bully. Dad never failed to investigate any curiosity. #rmdo

#rmdo Very Good, Grasshopper! #homeschooling
April Babcock Kathy Lester Phillips Shira Ellsworth Diana Tucci Morris Melissa Bachtel
To my homeschooling friends: I've noted among adults who grew up in a relaxed homeschooling environment, of whom I only know two, my own daughters, that they are better able to draw from the strengths of both parents, while counter acting the parents weaknesses. I'm seeing this quality already in all the grand children, who are frightening and amazing both me and their parents with their insight into human behavior.
The reason this is happening is because home schooled children are being socialized by adults (which answers the biggest criticism of homeschoolers!) and not by the brat packs of schools.
My children and my grandchildren have a deep understanding of the two people they need to understand the most for their future success: their parents.
Pawning off our children into the hands of "experts" delays that understanding by decades.
To my daughters Rebecca Taberski and Wendelyn Daly: My disciples have exceeded the master. (Very good, grasshoppers!).
