I HATE MONDAYS!!

Last Basketball Trip Part Two

During the second week of our last basketball trip for the year, Mary and I got a brief break from basketball and went to stay with Mary's mom for a few days at Mark and Lois's home in Mishawaka. Lois is Mary's sister. Her husband is the Pastor of The Mishawaka Indiana Hillcrest Baptist Church.

While Mark and Louis were away attending a Pastor's Conference, Mary and I visited her aged mom who stays with Mark and Lois.
Mary's mom is mostly able to care for herself. Our "job?" was to to just keep her company, and to double check her med routine, which can be a little confusing.

We went over to Wendy's house (my younger daughter) for supper on Friday, March 9th, and had supper with my older daughter Rebecca's family today on March 11th after they returned from a 3 day Basketball Tournament in Indy.

Also today, after Mary and I attended worship at Family Bible Fellowship Sunday morning, Mary's brother Dave came over with his daughter Wendy, and we 5, including Mom, went to the Mandarin House at Edison and Ironwood. Yumm!
About Allies basketball tournament: her team lost all three games, but it was very exciting, because they did so well against older, bigger teams, losing by one basket at the last minute for two of the games. We're excited because almost all of Allie's team are in their first year of a 3 year stint, and as they get older, they will become the older, experienced, and a little bigger (some of our players will always be smaller). We're proud that they made the big girls works so hard to beat them!

One more night of games on Tuesday, the 13th of March, at Trinity Lutheran on Cleveland/ County Road 6 to watch Libby in a tournament, then we'll head back to Michigan after the game.

Dr Who Fanatics Page: Facebook

I started as a fan of DR WHO after watching it on a public network station in North Dakota in 1976 because I'm a sci fi fan and because of the intriguing stories and characters that I could watch with my daughters, and I appreciated the BBC loyalty to a good sci fi series. I'm still angry at USA networks of their fickleness towards great sci fi, starting with Star Trck and more recently Firefly and Sarah Connor Chronicles. I'm in awe and extremely grateful of the follow up and investment the BBC has given this series in acting, writing, music. There is no better series.  
On Facebook there's a Dr Who  Fanatics Page. A picture of many of the companions was put together by Lucy Day. She notes:

My reply to her was: Lucy, this was extremely well thought out. I will do a blog post on this soon, more than likely my Sheiik Geek blog, although my Adventures of Mike and Mary blog could also post it since my "new" wife Mary (2 years!) has become a Dr Who freak. I also wrote a note to Carl Kelpinski, a Facebook friend who used to work in the same factory I worked at: Carl, were you a Dr. Who fan when you worked at Ristance/Echlin/Dana/Standard Motor? I've been a fan since 1980 or possibly since 1976 or shortly thereafter. It would have made the rabid fanaticism called work (I LOVE MY JOB!!!) a little more bearable. Thanks for turning me on to the Dr. Who fan page.

Supernatural Power

The words "praise God" are both a command and a permission to give God the glory for what is being accomplished. How do I fulfill that command? I must be be specific: WHATEVER I ACCOMPLISH is because of Him. WHATEVER I LEARN is because He taught me.
