Our Custard Time Adventure
Mary and I went to Livonia to the AMC Theater 20 to watch Men In Black 3. On the return trip we stopped off in her home town of Northville at Custard Time on 7 Mile Road. Mary had a bowl of Chocolate/Vanilla Swirl Frozen Custard, while I had a cheesecake/brownie swirl. The plantings by the store were beautiful.

Blog Views Up 250%: Thanks GooglePlus, GoogleSearch
Googleplus is winning on my blog url referrals, and winning big. Let me explain.
I formerly published 12 blogs, (I'm publishing 3 now) including my flagship blog The Shepherd's Heart Journal. I started posting from it in January 2010, and had 979 views. I posted my links often to Facebook and Twitter, and even repeated some postings, combining my links with my inspirational meditations and humorous observations. I was posting by the copy paste method. I posted so heavily Twitter and Facebook penalized me by either throttling my account or having me pass the weird writing test.
About half way through the year I began to observe the urls of the referring sites that was revealed to me through my membership in Google Analytics . I was noticing heavy referals by Google sites, though I was not an active member of Google Plus. Yay for Google Search !!
By the end of the year 2011 views had risen to over 5000 a month, with more than half of the referrals coming from non Facebook and Twitter referrals.
In 2012 I started posting on Google Plus off and on, and I also started using all 12 blogs. I switched to dynamic views soon after that, and noticed a dramatic rise in views. I also started to share my posts consistantly on Googleplus
Recently I have only sporadically posted from my flagship blog, and views have dropped. What's interesting is that views still continued from the referrals, even though I was posting very lightly.
Now here are the facts that should make every blogger switch to Google Plus immediately. Out of 2,690 views that came to my flagship blog, 95% came from Google sites, 5% came from Facebook, and none came from Twitter, even though I posted evenly to Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus to my other blogs.
My total blog views has gone from 6000 for all blogs in December to 15387 in April. I am seriously considering posting only Google Plus.
Recent observations show that Facebook and Twitter have gained in power since I originally wrote this post. But the power of Google Search is still unequaled.
In July, I still am not posting my flagship blog The Shepherd's Heart journal on social sites, but the views remain strong, with views as low as 125 but as high as 600 per day. Last month the amount of views was a new record for The Shepherd's Heart Journal. Each of the three blogs that I am authoring are experiencing record views. I attribute this to the power of Google Search and the rapidly strengthening Google Plus.
Blackberry, Derek Ross, Eeegads!

Blackberry will never have me as a customer for 2 reasons. I don't need them anymore.. Gmail syncs my contacts & calendar. 2 Their design.. my thumbs are too big and their screen is too small.. Egads!.. that supergeek Derek Ross sucked me into another time consuming interesting conversation. I'm signing off so I can get some work done.

There once was a biker who lived a godly life, well pleasing to the Lord, and the Lord decided to pay him a visit. "I've been pleased with you, and I've decided to grant you your hearts desire. Tell me what it is that you long for, and I will grant it.!"
"Well, Lord, you know how I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I don't want to fly or take a boat. I've always wanted to ride through the islands on my Harley. Could You build me a highway across the ocean so I could ride my baby to Honolulu?"
The Lord was quiet for a moment. "That would tie up a lot of resources, and many people would be involved. Is there anything else you have longed for that I could grant?"
The biker thought for just a second, then said, "Lord, You know I love my wife. She's precious to me, and I treat her like a queen, but sometimes I just don't understand her at all. Could You help me to understand women?"
Again the Lord was silent.
"Would you like that highway to be 2 lanes, or 4?!"
God actually can grant an understanding of women, although this understanding does not come easy. I tell a parable of this in The Angry Woman Parable .

Blogging on Google instead of Facebook
I'm glad that I switched to Google from Facebook back in February 2011. There are several reasons. The first reason was I had a choice in the size of print. I had a friend say that they would love to read more of the Parables if the print was larger. Plus there were multiplied ways to improve the appearance of the blog.
After I switched, more reasons revealed themselves. The big reason for switching was Google search. It is the most powerful search engine ever, and it has greatly aided me in my research, but even more importantly, GREATLY aided others in finding me. Under search words Parable, revmadddog1948, and especially Hell, several hundred people have found my Blog.
The third reason for switching, and staying switched, was the fact that Google, (and because of Google, Amazon and a host of other businesses) was willing to sponsor my blog by monetizing my ads. This is more work, and it's not a get rich scheme. I have yet to earn a check from Google, because there is a $100 minimum before they'll send me a check. But the fund is growing. Amazon has sent me one check of around $25, and 2 more are on their way in the next couple of months.
Contrary to the urban myth, neither Facebook nor Twitter will never charge it's users, but they won't ever pay them either.
Another BIG reason for using Google Blogspot is the analytics. Again, Google is far ahead of Twitter and Facebook. I can see how many view which blog, the times they view, and the countries that view, 124 at this date (5/19/2012).
A powerful reason for me to continue with Google blogspot is Google translation. My blog is being translated into 24 languages at my last reckoning.
Recently, another powerful reason for blogging on Google is now Googleplus. The blog is very easy to share on Googleplus because of it's tight intergration, and I'm getting far more response from Googlers than Facebookers in my blog views, according to Google analysis, which is provided for free to all Google blogs.

After lying quietly for more than a week, Why Good People Go to Hell is stirring interest with at least one new country and several new languages. The problem comes in finding out the language, since the Google site is done entirely in that language, without telling me what language it is. Sri Lanka is the country. I can't figure out which language. There are two official languages, Tamil and Sinhala. Bashkir is another new language. Total languages - 34. Total countries - 124.
I'm noting a new group of Parable of fans is forming in Russia. I had 17 views of my blog in the US just now, and 7 in Russia. God is good!
Google search fact: I just typed in my math problem (400 miles divided by 6 miles per gallon times $4 per gallon) and Google search came up with the answer. I use it for a dictionary and thesaurus also.

Why Hotmail SUCKS!
Google plus user Juan Pablo Aldana told another Google plus user Helka CarpeDiem the reason she was getting hacked all the time was she needed to change her password. Actually, Juan, the right thing for Helka to do is change emails and subscribe to gmail and only gmail.
Until recently, only gmail was encryptying by default the entire session.

I hope you'll be patient with my title selection but I really couldn't come up with a better word to describe Hotmail's performance.
