Tonight I'm blogging from my youngest daughter's kitchen table. I just put Mathew to bed after reading to him 4 chapters of the incredible adventures of the hapless mouse Geronimo Stilton.
I came over around dinner time to watch the boys, Mathew and Liam, while Chuck and Wendy went to see The Avengers Movie. After a little pizza, I put Liam in the safety swing while Mathew played with a new toy, a parachuting soldier that's thrown up in the air and floats down.
Wendy said that Liam would never let her swing him in the safety swing, but he was quite willing to let me put him in. It might have been the special song I sang.
I used the same made up song I used to sing to Mathew and Zach with a slightly different verse. The original went: I know some boys named Mathew and Zach! I know some wonderful boys! They like to go with Grampy to the railroad track, and listen to the trains make noise.
I realized as I was swinging Liam I had to do a change up, so I made this one up: I know some boys named Mathew and Liam! I know some wonderful boys! They like to look for trains whenever they can see 'um and listen to the trains make noise!
No applause, please. Just throw quarters.
When we finally had to go in, Liam broke into tears because we stopped swinging. I am an awesome grampa.
