My name and the word normal

I have never heard the word normal and my name used in the same sentence.

Hello! updated

Hello! My name is Mike Dittmer aka revmaddog1948 (use Google search!) or William Michael Dittmer, if you're from Homeland Security. I'm the author of 12 blogs, including 2 e books, The Gift Parables and More Parables, stories of how God orchestrated my life into a living parable through miracles and grace. I collect humor and wisdom, and I share my own meditations, observations, and portraits of family and friends. I have a special grace of attracting the very best people to me, including my late wife Lynne, who told me she loved me on our very first date, and Mary, whom I married March 4th, 2010. Attracting the best is why you're reading this right now. May God bless you in the name of Jesus with infinitely increasing GRACE!

http://revmaddog1948.blogspot.com/ A little bit of everything. My original blog, where I still repost some works from my other blogs.
http://adventuresofmikeandmary.blogspot.com/ Along with our adventures, our own humorous quotes. Mary and I have yet to figure out why this blog is so popular.
http://myshepherdsheartjournal.blogspot.com/ My own original inspirational quotes.
http://humorandinsanity.blogspot.com/ Humorous quotes, not my own, that I have collected, or my quotes with a picture.

http://moreparables.blogspot.com/ More unbelievable miraculous stories of God's SOVEREIGNTY and GRACE. These are not documentaries. My need to tell the stories is greater than my need for you to believe them, so I've called them Parables. Honor me by just listening, then make up your own mind.

Elvis and The Pope: Part Two

Before you read this, read Elvis and The Pope: Part One http://revmaddog1948.blogspot.com/2012/04/elvis-pope.html
Pat Taberski is like Duane Howard because she seems to know everybody. My daughter had married into the family, and because Pat's grand daughterrs were also my grand daughters, we attend girls basketbal games together across the Michiana area. Everywhere we go, she knows someone from that area.
But she caused my old skeptical attitude to rear it's head when she claimed to know the Pope.
I could not believe her, and challenged her on this statement. We decided to put it to the test by flying to the Vatican City.
When we arrived, Saint Peter's Square had thousands of visitors. Pat had told me that she would seek an audience with her good friend, the Pope, and then they would step out onto the balcony and wave. I waited a good long time when finally three people stood out on the balcony and waved. I had been talking with the fellow next to me in the crowd, a local Italian tourist. I had learned that he knew what the Pope looked like, and he also had a pair of binocul;ars. So when the trio came out, I turned to him, and asked "Is that the Pope?"
As he peered through the binoculars, he said, "I can't make out who the old fellow is, but the woman next to him is Pat Taberski!"
I replied, "Who's the other fellow?"
He responded, "I think it's Duane Howard!"

I will praise God!

In all things, for all things I will praise God. He has a perfect plan. He is a Perfect Planner.

Deadly Assumptions

We built our marvelous civilization on an assumption that's similar to the one made by the people in Noah's time.
If you'll recall the story, God told Noah that He was going to send a flood that would destroy the earth. Noah's neighbors laughed at such a possiblity. Hasn't rained yet, therefore it will not rain in the future, was their logic.
We have built our buildings, highways, bridges, damns, OUR ENTIRE INFRASTRUCURE on the data we have gathered in the last 100 years.
When we do look to the past, we greatly exagerate the length of our guestimate, and totally disregard the account given in the Bible. We assume that the writers had no understanding of science. We assume that their observations of history were fictional, a morality play.
Major cataclysisms are given a date back millions or even billions of years, statiscally eliminating any possibility that the earth might have periods of major instability.
The most egregious assumption that humanity has made ever since the first couple inhabited the earth was that the pursuit of knowledge was more important than the pursuit of a relationship with God.
Since we ignored God, we were unable to have Him guide us around the pitfalls of our ignorance.
It is never too late to call on God, as long as there is breath in our bodies. I know humility is my greatest need. Pride is my greatest weakness. Join me in asking for forgiveness on ignoring our God.
Almighty God, You're the Revealer of the hidden. You know where every lost person is. Supernaturally bring the rescuers to them!
You're the Sustainer of the weak! Strengthen them while You guide the rescuers to them.
Forgive me, Lord, and forgive us all for turning our backs on You. Restore us by Your grace back into a 24/7 fellowship.
Amen.

Looking Back: The Japan Earthquake

The time to pray is not after a disaster, but now. Lord Jesus, forgive us in our neglect of prayer.
The time to aid a disaster stricken friend is not after we get our resources together, but NOW! Borrow and or beg to get what is needed now!

Google beats market expectations on ad revenue.

Google is coming on strong, posting strong profits this quarter, above analysts expectations, according to Derek Ross. https://plus.google.com/u/0/107538503004482952974/posts
Google+ is starting to get traction, and Google search is making more money for Google off of iPhones than Android phones.
But don't expect Apple to be hit or any of it's products to go down. They continually improve their product development and have built a lot of momentum.
Look instead for the weak to get weaker. Kiss Blackberry good bye. When the big boys battle it out, the weeny companies die.

Pit Bull sacrificially saves family from cobra

This story about Chief the Pit Bull appears to be true, originally told in February 2007 by a well known and honored Phillipino journalist by the name of Herbie Gomez.
