GO MARY

Mary is taking to 2 thumb texting like Nemo took to Kung Fu in THE MATRIX. GO MARY!!

Creating a MONSTER!

I, Rev Mad Dog, internet gurrrru, the sheik sleek freaky geek, am showing Mary, the internet don't wanna be, how to 2 thumb text. I may be creating a monster.

Help Wanted

I am, like any one, reluctant to ask for help, but I feel I must, for I have great ambitions for The Parables.
When I first began publishing The Parables, I would have our church pay several hundred dollars to have them published in a local paper.
This actually had incredible results, for we had several families that attended our church as a result.
When I retired my finances changed, but not my ambitions. I would still love to publish these stories in papers around the world. I would also love to travel to countries and read these stories to groups everywhere.
I am naive enough to believe that words can be a catalyst, especially words that glorify God.
I have learned that we have not because we ask not. Because my obsession/ambition is so far reaching, I know very well I will need a lot of help.
There is a second reason for my reluctance to ask for help. I feel very obligated to convey my thanks to those who help me, and I am already unable to keep up with all the wonderful friends who have lifted me up on their shoulders so far.
I feel I should also mention one more topic, ads on my blog. I am thankful that Google is willing to share income with their bloggers. Facebook and Twitter put ads on also, but none of that income is shared with the writers. Hence, I have switched to the blogspot.
It is not a get rich scheme. So far I've earned $14.75 USD on Google Ads and $26.35 at My Amazing Amazon Store.
I wanted to monetize by ads because I strongly feel that tithes and offering should go to local with the help of an all powerful God, churches, and I am determined that I will not take from that which should go to local churches and missions.
I feel I have chosen well by selecting Google, Amazon, and one other unnamed company to be the ones I work with.
This brings me to the top ten list. I have made up a list of ways that you, my readers, can help me. In typical David Letterman fashion, I will begin with #10 first.
Top 10 Ways to Help Promote The Parables
10. Read The Parables, The Shepherd’s Heart Journal Blog, and my other 11 blogs.
9. Allow your heart to agree with those things in The Parable that you know to be true.
8. If you’re on Facebook, hit the like button. It not only encourages the author,
it stirs interest in others that come across the post.

7. Facebookers, share these posts with others.
6. Facebook friends, encouage others to befriend me.
5. Tweeters, retweet my posts. Google Plussers, hit the + and share.
4. Introduce me to other tweeters by your recommendations.
3.If the Google ads stir an interest, click on the link.
2. If you’re already an Amazon customer, or are thinking of becoming one, ALWAYS shop at my blog, which always has an Amazon link. Just click, bookmark, and shop on one of my blog banners like the one below this paragraph to go to my Amazing Amazon eStore for Parable Promoters, and you will land on the Amazon Homepage. Remember to only go to the store through the bookmark.
1. Most importantly, pray for Mary and me, that God will stretch out the tent pegs of the tent called The Shepherd’s Heart Journal, The Gift Parables, and the posts and send us many helpers.
You’ve heard that the 1st shall be last etc. In this case the first AND the last are the most important. Read. Pray.
Many are already doing so much. I am only posting this to stir others to join them. Thank you again for all that you’ve done already.
There has been 66837 views on all 12 of my blogs, as of April 10, 2011, in at least 124 countries and interpreted in 34 or more languages.

God has been providing for my necessities. With your help, The Parables can experience God’s abundance.
It is insanity to believe these stories can, with the help of an all powerful God, change the world.
I love being insane!

A Delightful Dinner

During the 1st week of April, Mary and I had a delightful time at my daughter Wendy's home. Showed up at 4, chatted a while with a long time family friend Jo Thomas, then went out side.
I played soccer with 1 and a half year old Liam. He's great at dribbling the soccer ball down the field. but then he stops, picks up the ball, and shoots a basket. We'll work on that.
After a dinner of home made chicken Tortilla soup, we said good night to Liam and Mathew, after listening to bed time stories from their mom.
We hung out till Chuck came home from working a second job. After Chuck got ready for bed, we all sat and watched his favorite program on TV,  a DVR recording of World Wrestling Federation's Monday night RAW. We watched THE ROCK  talked smack about John Senna. That's a new development.
I'm incredibly proud of my daughters, their husbands, and their families, but I understand that it's because of God's direction and Lynne's help that they turned out so well.

If God is Wrong

If God is Wrong?
If we are to believe the accounts of the ancient writers, there is a Being called God, Who claims to be the Creator of all and Connected to all, all Creation and all time. He has told all witnesses from the beginning He will create a Creature of Great Beauty (The Church) of perishable flesh from ignorant children of free will. His motto is "My strength is made perfect in their weakness.
Many Eternal beings doubted Him, and we of humanity doubt His Words also.
It would do us good to consider the question. WHAT IF GOD IS WRONG?

IF GOD IS WRONG there is no hope for us.
IF GOD IS WRONG there is no justice.
IF GOD IS WRONG there is no beauty.
IF GOD IS WRONG we are puppets to stronger forces.
IF GOD IS WRONG we are animals destined for slaughter.
IF GOD IS WRONG we are an insignificant flea on the elephant of Time.
IF GOD IS WRONG there is no Heaven and no Hell.
IF GOD IS WRONG there is no reward and no punishment
IF GOD IS WRONG there is no place of absolute fellowship and no place of absolute loneliness.

IF GOD IS WRONG, who wins?
IF GOD IS WRONG, predators win: child molesters, rapists, thieves, social engineers that use the tools of violence and intimidation, thought police, liars, murderers, serial killers, racists, perpetrators of genocide.
IF GOD IS WRONG, those who Crucified Jesus win.
IF GOD IS WRONG, Satan and ALL the forces of darkness and evil win.

Dear friend, I need to finish this with a conclusion. Of course, the only fitting conclusion for you, the reader, is to please surrender your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. Place yourself on God's side in this great question and battle. Do you believe that God can make His strength perfect in YOUR weakness NOW?! NOW is the time for salvation. Putting off a life or death decision may potentially mean DEATH. Place your faith in God now. Cling to the Cross of Jesus as your ONLY salvation, and don't depend on your undependable works to get you into Heaven.
Pray the prayer that Jesus recommended for us ALL to pray. God be merciful to me a sinner! Message me if you prayed this prayer today!

Google+ Stomps Facebook, Twitter

Bloggers, take note: Google+ out pulled viewers to my blog 7 to 1.
I just did a quick analysis of last weeks views on one of my 12 blogs The Adventures of Mike and Mary. The blog had about 400 page views. Of those 400, 24 came up with identifying URLs. Of those 24 identities, 21 were not Facebook or Twitter. So, of those 400 views, 88% came from outside my circle of Facebook and Twitter friends.
I have been working with Facebook and Twitter for 2 years. I have just been seriously working with Google Plus for about one month, dabbling about two months. During that time, my page views per month have gone from 5000 in January to over 12 thousand in March.
I strongly suspect that the power of the Google search engine is behind this surge in my blog page views.

Connections

The commercial for the Grammy commercial, which has the music of rap star Mike Shinoda, had a hauntingly similar sound to the new Chrysler ads with the Selected of God black gospel choir which electrified everyone in last years Superbowl Ads. The Chrysler Ads were produced by another rapper, eminem, and the two men had collaborated together before Mike started with his own group. Both are considered among the top 10 rappers of all time.
Another connection has been nagging me: the striking similarity between the composers of Touch, the new tv series produced by Tim Kring, who also produced Heroes, and the composers for the movie Hannah, The Chemical Brothers. Seems they both did tracks for Heroes: The Original Sound Track.

Good news/ bad news

http://newsone.com/nation/crime/nomul6/detroit-senior-shoots-and-kills-intruder/ This happened close to us (45 minutes drive). Good news/ bad news. Good news is a man is still alive along with his invalid wife. Bad news is a man who lacked understanding is dead.

The Image of God

"Lord, I’ve always wanted to take a road trip to Hawaii. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii?”
One day the Lord appeared to a biker. The Lord said “You have been a good example to all the other bikers. You’ve been a courteous driver, respectful to women, temperate in your habits, and you’ve kept in touch. Ask me for your heart desires!”
The biker thought for a moment. “Lord, I’ve always wanted to take a road trip to Hawaii. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii?”
“That would tie up a lot of men and materials,” replied the Lord. “Is there any thing else your heart yearns for?”
“Well, Lord, I really love my wife, but she really confuses me sometimes. Could you help me understand women?
The Lord was silent. Then He said, “Would you like that bridge to be four lanes or two?”
In case you’re confused, the preceding is just a story. But, not too many years ago, I was in the same condition that the biker was in. I respected women, and I cherished my wife, but women confused and, sometimes, frightened me.
Then God revealed to me a cherished misconception that I was holding on to. I understood basically that man was created in the image of God. It was also obvious and simple observation. Women had an irreplaceable role in raising children. Since the woman was created separately, I assumed that they were an alien race. They were beautiful, necessary, but unfathomable, incomprehensible!
God reminded me that they too were in the image of God. All of the characteristics that God possessed they possessed. The fierceness, the passion, the love of beauty, the strength, etc., it was all there, in different proportions than men, but still there. Some qualities that I thought were unique to women were also in men, but in smaller, or dormant portions, such as the love of beauty, awareness, tenderness.
God also reminded me that it was my mother who mentored me, who encouraged me in both the love of beauty, especially music, and pushed me into being fierce, to defend myself and others. She encouraged me to be fearless, for she was a fearless woman. She was like that because she was made in the image of God.
We all are.
If you want to know who you are, then you must know, know in the deepest sense, who God is. If you want to know God, you must look to the cross. Fierce, fearless love.
Happy Mother’s Day!

This sermon was originally preached to Family Bible Fellowship under my original blog name The Shepherd’s Journal/ May 11, 2008/ The Image of God

Frugal-cheap

We're going to Frankenmuth Michigan today. It's Eric's and my birthday month, so we eat dinner free. Mary eats free also cause I'm buying hers. Don't choke and have a heart attack. Yes, I'm frugal (cheap!) but I always spoil the woman I love. I have found it to be an investment that pays great dividends. And because I've been cheap (frugal) for so long, I have a little cash to do that.
