I Know Some Boys
Tonight I'm blogging from my youngest daughter's kitchen table. I just put Mathew to bed after reading to him 4 chapters of the incredible adventures of the hapless mouse Geronimo Stilton.
I came over around dinner time to watch the boys, Mathew and Liam, while Chuck and Wendy went to see The Avengers Movie. After a little pizza, I put Liam in the safety swing while Mathew played with a new toy, a parachuting soldier that's thrown up in the air and floats down.
Wendy said that Liam would never let her swing him in the safety swing, but he was quite willing to let me put him in. It might have been the special song I sang.
I used the same made up song I used to sing to Mathew and Zach with a slightly different verse. The original went: I know some boys named Mathew and Zach! I know some wonderful boys! They like to go with Grampy to the railroad track, and listen to the trains make noise.
I realized as I was swinging Liam I had to do a change up, so I made this one up: I know some boys named Mathew and Liam! I know some wonderful boys! They like to look for trains whenever they can see 'um and listen to the trains make noise!
No applause, please. Just throw quarters.
When we finally had to go in, Liam broke into tears because we stopped swinging. I am an awesome grampa.

Art Show in Niles Michigan
On Friday, May 4, 2012, I took the Taberski kids (my oldest daughter's children) to an Art Show and Awards Program at the Cornerstone Evangelical Free church in Niles Michigan. Gloria Seitz, a certified art teacher who holds varied art classes at mulitple skill levels, hosted the event. Becky's children and we grand parents have been participating for over 5 years, After the awards, there was refreshments, then the Taberskis, other relatives, (me) and another family friend and participant Melissa Bachtel and her children met at Steak and Shake in Roseland Indiana for dinner. The art shown is from Zach, 8, Libby, 11, and Allie 14.

Eric's Greenhouse
Eric, Mary's son, has a passion for gardening. He has a well designed and built portable greenhouse with automated venting whenever the temps get too hot for the fragile seedlings. Mary gets to take care of the babies whenever Eric's job as an Airline Flight Attendant takes him away overnight in the spring.
Turning Mary Into A Nerd
Mary and I stayed up to watch The Nerdist tv show because it had Nathan Fillion from the excellent TV show Firefly cancelled by nitwit network Fox, Will Wheaton, the former child star of Star Trek, Next Generation, David Tennant, former Dr. Who, & The Nerdist of the Year Runner up Weird Al Yankovich, introduced to us by our super geek friend Barry Skalski. The winner was supposed to be Isaac Newton, but he couldn't attend the ceremony on account of he was dead. (see pictures at bottom of blog)It felt good to know my influence of two years had turned Mary into a fanatical sci fi nerd.
